Temple square sisters! They are so beautiful! From left to right these sisters are from Wales, France, Brazil, Germany, China, and Spain! |
Dear everyone,
This week has been oh so good. I started my Visitor Center training, and oh my goodness, it's been fantastic.
Here's why:
1. Training is only five days, so that means I will be transferring to Temple Square next week!
2. My teachers are incredible. They served in VC missions so they know what this mission is all about. They teach by the spirit (you are always winning when you do this). They do such a good job pushing all of the VC sisters to be the type of missionary the Lord would want us to be. I am learning so many important things that I know I will be using everyday in the mission.
3. I love my Visitor Center sisters! There are 14 of us all together. Most of us are going to Temple Square, but the other sisters will be going to the San Diego, CA and the Washington DC Visitor Centers. Just so you know where some of them are from: Germany, China, Spain, Brazil, Argentina. There is such a bond between missionaries studying together to go out and preach the gospel. I don't know how I'm going to say goodbye to them when the time comes. :(
4. ONLINE TEACHING! Last night my companions and I were on Mormon.org teaching people through chat, and a guy got on who was wondering about some things relating to the atonement. We got to teach him about the Savior, and we sent him a link to a video about the Savior (called Lifting our Burdens. So good.). Long story short, we have a potential investigator! I feel the power of missionary work so strongly because of this experience.
This past Wed. began VC training, so the first thing in the morning our teachers took all of us to Temple Square. I had a wonderful experience. So I don't know if it's because I entered the TS [Temple Square] from a gate I've never been through before, or if it's because I was looking through a new lens since I will be a missionary serving there, but Temple Square looked so different to me. As soon as I walked onto the grounds, I felt the quiet presence of the spirit. I felt so calm and happy. Everything looked so new and beautiful to me. I don't know if that makes sense, but that was how I felt. :)
So the Temple Square sisters took us on a tour through the Plan for the Family exhibit (I don't think that is what it's called...but basically that's what it was about). This tour is a series of about 5 videos and you move from room to room watching them. When we got to the last room and sat down to discuss what we learned, my heart was so full of the spirit. I was thinking about how much love Heavenly Father has for us to send us to families where we can learn and grow together. We are able to be together forever because of Jesus Christ. I want every family to be able to live with their loved ones forever. This experience really impressed me with how much everyone needs the gospel in their life. Ahh, it was such a great day.
I think I will be leaving the MTC on Wed. Idk when my next P-day will be, so hang tight.
I love you all so much. THANK YOU for the letters. You make me feel so loved. Some people (*cough*, my companions) might be starting to really dislike me because of how many letters I get, haha. We went to get the mail the other day and my companion pulled out the mail and was like, "Sister Butler...Sister Butler....and Sister Butler." There's my line for the week. I'm sorry, it's all I've got!
Last thing, I've been running into Karen [Sisson] a lot! It is SO fun seeing her! She is doing a really good job studying. I've seen her with her companion studying on an outside bench a couple of times! I love her.
I LOVE AND MISS YOU ALL!

How wonderful to see these beautiful daughters of God preparing to join the rank of gospel messagengers, called to serve and filled with the spirit. God bless you and keep you in this Holy work.
