Craziest Week of My Life

Sister Yoshida, my new companion!

We were able to grab a quick picture as we were waiting in line to go
through security. These are some of the lovely sisters from TSQ that
got to go. Included in this picture are sisters from Mexico, Tahiti,
Fiji, Philippians, Guatemala, China, Mongolia, Australia, and
Pompeii!

Before the General Women's Conference started.

Hello everyone!

I never thought things could get any busier since I've been on Temple Square these last several months, but that's before I was in charge of all of the schedules! This week was transfer week and there were so many changes in the schedule (due to sisters needing a Language study hour or changing their time to be in the Teaching Center). The thing with changing something is that it affects several other things. So it's been really crazy and my poor new companion has been trying to get used to all this. Which by the way, I have a new companion and her name is Sister Yoshida and she's from Mexico. She has a strong desire to serve the Lord and is so humble. We have been getting along like peanut butter and jelly!

We didn't have a lot of time to be on the square this week, but when we did we took some of the best tours of my mission. On one tour there were two inactive brothers. One of the brothers had actually served a mission and went less-active later (but now he's coming back). On the tour I felt inspired to ask a simple question, "How has the Church blessed your life?" Everyone was silent and then a second later the the Spirit hit before anyone said a word. Both brothers started crying as the brother who served a mission shared about his experiences on the mission and how it has blessed him. I was not expecting this at all. It was one of the sweetest experiences I've had on a tour. Fun fact, this tour was in Spanish. Sister Yoshida explained to me later what he was saying, but it didn't really matter because I could feel the power of the Spirit, no matter what language was being spoken.

On another tour we took a mother and her two daughters who are Roman Catholic. At first the mother made it clear that they already have their religion and they have everything they need to know, but they were surprisingly open to learn more about the First Vision and the Restoration of the gospel. We ended at the Christus statue and there we asked a simple question: "Why are you thankful for Jesus Christ?" The mother shared her feelings with us about Him, and then her daughter choked up and shared a few words. We ended the tour there but the daughter couldn't stop crying after that. It was beautiful because we knew she was feeling the Spirit. I asked if she would like to learn more and if she would like to keep in touch, but she said she has friends that are members so she knows where to go if she decides to learn more.

I only have a small portion of the story of the two young brothers and the mother with two daughters. I don't know when or how, but something will come of the experiences they had on Temple Square because of the Spirit they felt. It's a beautiful thing to feel like you are tools in the Lord's hands bringing about good. It's one of the best feelings.

I got to go to Women's Conference! I can't say what my favorite part was because I loved everything. I literally felt wrapped up in the Spirit the whole time. Attending these general conferences in person is so special. It's special because you get to be in the presence of the apostles and prophets, men called of God. One of my favorite parts of the two conferences I've been able to attend is when an apostle or prophet walks in. First came Elder Holland. Almost 21,000 sisters stood as he dropped his wife off in the audience and greeted those on the stand. The Spirit reaffirmed in my heart that he is an Apostle of the Lord. Later, President Thomas S. Monson came in--along with Presidents Eyring and Uchtdorf. Again almost 21,000 sisters stood in silence as the Spirit spoke to each of us. I know that he is the prophet because of what I felt. It wasn't my own feelings, I know It was the Spirit. I'm so thankful for modern day prophets and apostles that lead and guide us to safety, and do so with love.

I miss you guys! Keep up the good work! Love you!

xoxox,
Sister Butler

Lines of the week:
Because of the busy schedule this week my mind has been a little slow and I've mixed up some words. I thought I would share a few with you! I was honestly so tired, I really did say these things. Cross my heart.

*After I went to ask the APs a question I came back to report to my companion: "My answers have been questioned, I mean my questions have been answered."

*When asking a blessing upon the food I said: "We ask a food upon the blessing, uhh...a blessing upon the food."

I hope you got a laugh out of my dyslexic English this week!
