Small Miracles
Hello, how is everyone doing?
This week was the fastest I've ever had since I've been on my mission.
Everything is mostly a blur. I feel like I just wrote a letter home so I don't know what to say?
Last Thursday we had a special treat. We were able to have Relief Society in the Relief Society Building, with the Relief Society General Presidency! Sister Linda Burton and Sister Linda Reeves (the other counselor wasn't able to make it). They are the most loving, down-to-earth people I have ever met. I had a strong desire to be just like them! We all felt the spirit immeasurably in the beautiful Relief Society Building. We didn't have a whole lot of time with them so they mainly shared the purpose of the Relief Society organization and then we did a Q&A. Sister Reeves had 13 children, so on my way out I got to shake her hand (and Sister Burton's) and I told her I was from a family of 11. She said, "Well you know then." Haha. :)
We had some success on the square this past week. Two people referred to us after two different tours! One man is from Georgia and he's a truck driver. Another guy we took on a tour today. He is a young man that is very devout Catholic. We were so surprised at how nice he was and open to learn. He didn't bring up the usual topics people do, mainly polygamy. He said something that really surprised me. We were sharing with him about the Book of Mormon and in conclusion I basically said that it's either true or it's not, and he can know if it's true by reading it and asking God. He said that whether it's true or not he's seen the good fruit that has come from it. He said that every member of the church that he's come in contact with are the kindest people he's ever met. I was so surprised to hear that. AND, he believes that we are Christians too. So at the end of the tour he wanted a Book of Mormon and we got his number. We'll see where it goes from here.
Well, I think that's it for today. I'm sorry it's so short. I love you all!
Love,
Sister Butler
