Hello!

Happy Thursday!

What an awesome week it's been!!! So I will start with this past Monday, Halloween! So the square was closed down at 5pm and we all gathered in the South Visitor's Center basement to have a yummy meal from Olive Garden. They ordered gluten-free pasta with marinara sauce for me and for other sisters who have allergies, and I have a gluten-free friend who made brownies for that night. I was in gluten-free heaven. :)

Then...drum roll, please.....we gathered in a theater to watch The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. I joked with sisters that they were probably going to show us the older version. Does anyone remember the artificial fur costumes and the incredibly cheesy movie effects from the 1980s or whenever it was made? I asked if they could first show a clip of this old one as a joke, but it was a little late notice. :) We did get to see the newer version though! That night was like a big family home evening. There was popcorn and apple juice and candy! I don't think I have laughed so much during any movie. It probably has something to do with how we don't watch movies, and we like to take advantage of any reason to laugh. :) I don't think they could've picked a better movie because there are so many parallels to the Plan of Salvation and the Savior. Throughout the movie I kept on hearing whispers like, "That's like the Restoration." or "It's like he is receiving the priesthood!" That's what happens when a whole bunch of missionaries get together, and I love it! You can make a connection to anything with gospel. It was a wonderful night.

Last week I talked about an investigator we've been teaching and how she's started praying. Guess what?! She has already read until the book of Jacob in The Book of Mormon! I am so proud of her. She is still hesitant to meet with missionaries and attend Church, but she is slowly making progress. She shared that she had an interest in the Mormon church when she was a teen, but she thought it was a cult. She isn't afraid of that anymore! Yay! Pray that she will want to meet missionaries!

I had another call with a woman who was requesting a Bible. I brought up The Book of Mormon and she said all she needed was a Bible. She was stand offish at first but as I shared the Restoration and the First Vision she opened up. After I recited Joseph's account, she said quietly but with feeling, "Wow....wow!" It was awesome. I think I sent missionaries to her to bring a Bible and Book of Mormon.

I just remembered to share with you about our Missionary Leadership Council this past Monday. It is always a spiritual feast! We have had this on going theme for the past few transfers to be a "rock-solid, true blue, through-and through," disciple of Jesus Christ. This phrase comes from an experience Joseph F. Smith had of fearlessly defending the faith. This short 1 minute clip shares his story. Please watch it! :) https://www.lds.org/media-library/video/2012-05-0603-preparation-of-joseph-f-smith-true-blue-through-and-through?lang=eng

I wish I had time to share more of the highlights, but I have to run. We have zone activity today! I'll send pics next week! Love you all!
