Trust in the Lord

Hello everyone!

Whew! Today has been crazy. Because of the new Christmas schedule we only have P-day from 11-7. With the other things going on there is rarely a spare minute. Today I was telling my companion that we have a really nice, comfy couch--if only we had time to use it.

For example, today we were taking a mission picture so we had to be out of the door at 8am (remember technically we get to sleep until 7:45, but we had to get up earlier). After the picture we made the 10 minute walk back to the apartment to have studies. Then at 11:15 we began laundry and cleaning the apartment. Then at 12pm we needed to clean one of the mission cars. Then at 1-4pm we went shopping. This always includes getting lost BTW, but it always works out. :) Then we came back home had a bite to eat (I bought some Cafe Rio while we were out! It made me day!) and finished up the laundry. Now I am sitting here emailing before my companion and I go to our square assignments. Whew! I know that things are super busy with you guys too! Christmas is a great time, but it gets so busy!

So, what happened this week? Honestly, it's a little blurry. The days are starting to blend together, haha. Every night hundreds of people come to visit. Many families and friends bundled up to see the famous Temple Square lights! Last night we were assigned at the Christus statue to introduce the narration and bare testimony. I felt the spirit so strongly as I testified of the reality of Jesus Christ and the love he has for all of us. It's amazing to feel even a small portion of God's love for all of us. I'm so blessed to be a part of Temple Square as a missionary!

My companion and I aren't having a lot of success with online teaching. We have several people we're working with, but they won't answer the phone! Sister Aquino was trying to call some of her dropped investigators (we drop investigators when we can't get a hold of them or they aren't interested) and she felt prompted to call Emily. Sister Aquino met Emily about a year ago on Temple Square and she got her contact info. Emily never answered the phone until last week. So we found out that she was baptized last Feb. and she is doing really well and loving the gospel! It's a miracle! We are so happy for her!

Well, my brain is kind of fried and I can't think of what else to say. So Feliz Navidad to one and all!

Love,

Sister Butler
P.S. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart. He will lead you through your challenges. Whatever they may be, we can have the peace and assurance that the Holy Spirit brings when we're living worthily. He really is the greatest gift that God could bestow upon us. We know how we can feel peace and joy every day. So many people don't have that and they are searching for it. We have so many things in the church that help us find peace, joy, comfort, direction, etc. The scriptures, prayer, priesthood blessings, patriarchal blessings, the temple, conference talks, and many other things. But do we take advantage of all that we're blessed with? Only you know the answer to that question. My invitation to you is to turn to the Lord (when life is good and hard) and choose one of the many wonderful resources we are blessed with in the church to find direction. You will find help and comfort, I know it!
