Hello!
So transfer calls were on Saturday and I'm getting called to follow-up train in a Samoan ward. All I'm hearing from the other missionaries is that they feed you A TON! Sometimes three meals in one day! Ahh. I've had a few meals with the Hermanas and I can barely take the mountain of rice, meat, and beans they pile on my plate. I asked a member if I could take my left overs home and apparently something was lost in translation because she just piled some more food into the containers. Ahh. Anyway, I don't know if I'm actually going to need to learn Samoan--I'm only here for 4 more weeks. :(
So I'll give a brief summary of my week. A couple weeks ago I contacted a man delivering mail and he asked for a pamphlet. I gave him both a pamphlet and a Book of Mormon to start reading. I got his phone number and was able to set up a time to meet him this past week. He had so many good questions about the church. He already believes a lot of the things we do with the word of wisdom, law of chastity, and the doctrine of the Godhead. I found out he lives in Tracy, CA--neighboring mission--so I transferred him over there. :( I asked him if he would be baptized as he learns the message is true, and he said, "Does a doctor go to medical school to become a doctor?" He's very spunky and outspoken. I love it!!
I'm sad to leave the wonderful members in this area, and Sue!! It has been an answer to my prayer to meet her and to see her progress in the gospel. We went to the Oakland Visitor Center last Monday and it was like a moment of heaven. The sun was setting and Sue was just loving every minute of being at the temple! I felt such peace and serenity being there. Also, it was really weird being at a visitor center again, haha.
It's a blessing to be in the Lord's full-time service. I love the way I feel teaching and testifying. It's true. I feel my testimony grow stronger everyday. Feed your testimony everyday by feeding it spiritually and sharing it with others.
I love you!
Xoxox, Sister Butler
