Hello!
So I hit my year mark this past week and I am just so weirded out by how fast that went. I remember in perfect detail everything leading up to going into the MTC and the experience I had there. It feels like yesterday but a lot has definitely transpired since then. I'm so grateful for all the lessons I've learned as I've been serving, but most of all I'm so thankful for the opportunity to testify of the restoration of the gospel everyday full time! It brings so much joy.
So everything is going really well with Sue. She loves what she's learning and she's been to church 3 times now! She is so sweet. All because a member in our ward, Sister Lee, had the impression to go get her haircut by Sue, which led to a 2 hour conversation about the church. Sister Lee invited her to church and Sue has come every week since (except for once when she was out of town). You never know the difference you can make! Always look for ways to invite your friends to church or church activities! Blessings will come.
I'm so grateful for the Savior. I watched a Mormon message about a woman who lost almost her whole immediate family to cancer. Several things she said stood out to me. She said something like the more we feel pain and sorrow the greater our capacity is to feel joy. She said she feels a great tenderness for her Savior because He went through what she did. The atonement is so beautiful. It is central to everything we believe and do. There is no way we could make it in this life without it. The Refiner's Fire
I love you all very much! Thank you for your prayers and letters. They strengthen me so much!
Xoxoxo,
Sister Butler
