Don't Worry, I'm Still Alive!

The best meal of my life!

As you have guessed by now, my p-day changed. This past week was transfers and it's been so crazy! This week has felt so long especially since I missed my p-day on Fri. Since my p-day may change each transfer, sometimes I will miss it or sometimes I'll get two. It just depends on what zone I get put in. But now I can finally go to Walmart to restock my twinkies, pickles, and cheese balls, so I will be okay. (that joke is for you dad!) :)

Do you want to hear about all of the changes? On Sunday I got a text that I would be moving to another apartment building (they do this before transfers so you can start packing up). I have moved almost every transfer, except for when I was in training. It's a lot of work!

On Mon. morning the APs called to reveal that my new companion would be Sister Tekurio. She is from Tahiti and is a professional Tahitian dancer--she wears the grass skirt and everything. She has a great sense of humor and a kind heart. My assignment this transfer is to work in the mission office as a temple square coordinator. This means we coordinate the schedule of over 160 sisters at the beginning of each transfer. We also have other duties throughout the transfer. We do a monthly report of tours and share it in a meeting with the mission leaders. So we just had one yesterday and I was kind of nervous! I never thought I would come on a mission to give reports on graphs and numbers and what not. Haha, but hey, I'm getting experience for future job opportunities.

So what's fun about being a temple square coordinator is that I work closely with the mission leadership. Today there was a Mission Leadership Training meeting for all the district leaders and zone leaders, and we got to go! (We had a small part in the meeting to do a report about the tours and referrals last month.) We got to sit in on all of the trainings and be spiritually fed. I learned so much. I wanted to share with you something that impressed me during the meeting. My mission president talked about how every person on earth has accepted the gospel before this life, they have just forgotten it. When we testify about the gospel it reawakens feelings in their soul that they have accepted this message before. We just need to do our part to have the Spirit with us to teach and testify powerfully so they can remember. I know that this work is the work of the Lord. I know that God loves all of His children and He wants all of us to come back to Him.

Well, my brain has shut down and I can't think of anything else to share. I'm thankful for all of you and for your prayers. It's comforting to know that the Lord's missionaries are prayed for. I love this gospel. I know it is what will help us to make it back to our Father someday. Live it. Share it.

xoxo,
Sister Butler

Line of the Week:
I'm sorry that I haven't done this for a while, I just can't ever think of anything funny when I'm sitting here. But I think I have a good one. :)

*We just received a text message and Sister Tekurio pulled out the phone to take a look. It was a blank message from one of the sisters and this is what she said.*
S. Tekurio: I think we need eyes of faith to see what this sister is trying to say.

Sister Chamberlin and I made spaghetti and meatballs and garlic
bread together several times. It was kind of like our tradition. I
would make the garlic bread--I slathered bread with butter, put fresh
minced garlic on it, and broiled it in the oven. Sister Chamberlin
would make the sauce and meat balls. (Of course I had me g-free bread
and noodles) it was so yummy.

We met this sweet family two weeks ago. This mom has 3 angels! We were at the map desk assignment when we saw them walk in. When I saw her kids, especially the little girl, I felt like there was something special about them. I talked with the mom and she shared with me that when her little girl was born she was dead. The umbilical chord got smashed during the birthing process so the baby went without oxygen for 10-15 min. Somehow she came back, but she was in critical condition for a couple of days and it wasn't certain if she would survive.

During this time the mom, Karen, knew that her baby was making the choice to live or not. She just knew that God had given that choice to her daughter. So obviously her daughter survived and Karen says that she is the most loving little girl. Karen said that from the earliest time she could talk, she just knew who Jesus was and would talk about him. When they were up by the Christus her little girl said she wanted to give Jesus a hug. So sweet!

During this whole conversation I felt the spirit so strongly. Her little boys have special spirits about them too. Karen said that her daughter loves her older brothers. Especially the one right above her. The day Karen gave birth to her son (the one in the orange coat) she just felt her daughter's spirit pressing her that she wanted to come to their family! Ahhh. I could just go on and on. Meeting this family was such a cool experience!
